This site is being developed to explore solutions to the growing problem of aging non violent citizens housed in prison.  Many non violent senior prisoners will be there long after there is a need for their confinement.  Their sentences are consistent with current public policy because of past and current mandatory minimum sentencing.

It  was never anticipated that we would confine such a large number of citizens for life-style issues.  The problem is compounded because of the vast numbers that were sentenced under mandatory minimum guidelines, which make it impossible for them to be paroled.

This policy and the harm it is doing to our country both socially and fiscally needs to be spotlighted.
